In capabilities, I study how companies upgrade their capabilities, especially technological ones, to become internationally competitive. In governance, I study how firm ownership and boards affect its behavior and how firms deal with corruption.
My main geographical area of expertise is Latin America, but recently I have started analyzing firms in Asia. This figure illustrates my research streams.
